Here is a very interesting and extremely detailed map of showing exactly where the Sierra Nevada mountain range falls in California. The dark outlines map all of the topographic regions of the Sierra peaks. These peaks alone do not mark out the Sierra Nevada range in its entirety as there are many foothills and valleys intertwined within the range, but show the line of highest peaks along the entire range.
